Located in west central Illinois, 17 miles from the Mighty Mississippi, we farm our ground and ground of 5 landowners.
We believe that the land is a living entity and it is our responsibility to take care of it and keep it viable and fertile. Presently, we have 350 acres of certified organic ground and vegetables. On the rest of the acreage that we farm we strictly plant NON-GMO seed; corn, soybeans and wheat, & oats. We have 400+ acres in transition that will be ready for certification in 2018-2020.
Our hope is to have a majority of the land we farm restored to a healthy soil in 6 years. We will do that by eliminating anything synthetic and reviving our soil by applying our Humus Compost. See our page on composting for more information.
At this time our vegetable garden provides enough food to feed the two of us and our children and grandchildren and includes a few goodies we share with my mother and friends and neighbors. We do sell our produce to the public. If you are interested you need to contact us and get on the list.
Please visit our "Favorite " page for a list of books and articles that we have found helpful as we travel the to journey nutritional farming. Our resource page offers several links that will lead to finding out more about organic farming.
May God bless us all as we strive to restore the land God has given us to farm.
